Spanish cast iron producer Funderia Condals might build a plant in the IPZ Zaborske industrial park in Presov, eastern Slovakia, Hospodarske Noviny reported. The daily cited Presov mayor Pavel Hagyari as saying that the town is in talks with an unnamed Spanish investor which is planning to invest up to EUR 10mn. The plant could create 400 new jobs in the region, which is plagued by one of the highest unemployment rates in the country of about 17%. The Spanish company will reportedly ask the Slovak state for investment aid, which could reach up to 50% of the investment. |
