South Africa sends troops to Kya Sands after attacks on foreigners

Troops were sentinto Kya Sands, a suburb of Johannesburg, after attacks that may have targeted foreigners,police spokesman Govinsamy Mariemuthoo said. This was after 10 people werearrested for assaulting and robbing 11 people, six of whom were either Zimbabweanor from Mozambique. Three of the victims needed to be hospitalised. The attackswere being treated as criminal acts rather than xenophobic.
