Around 33% of Internet users in the MENA region purchased goods and services online bringing the total shoppers from the region to around 20mn, according to a survey by online research company Effective Measure and Spot On Public Relations. The GCC region leads with some 43% of Internet users buying products or services online, figures showed. Only 20% of Internet users buy online in the Levant and North Africa. The survey also found that female shoppers are more likely to buy clothes and accessories, while men prefer electronics.
