Slovene foreign minister: No reservations about Croatia's competition chapter.

By bne IntelliNews June 15, 2010
Slovene foreign minister Samuel Zbogar said that Slovenia had no recervation in respect to the opening of the competition chapter within Croatia's EU accession negotiations. The statement came on concerns that unsettled claims, related to Ljubljanska Banka's customers and partners might stall the talks. Zbogar expressed belief that the country will be able to open the policy chapter on judiciary and fundamental rights at the next intergovernmental conference. He pointed out that this week the government would initiate parliamentary procedure for lifting reservations on the opening of negotiations on the foreign, security and defence policy chapter. The EU Council's working group for enlargement and COREPER are expected to decide on whether to open the judiciary and fundamental rights chapter in two weeks.
