Slovakias monthly EU-harmonised inflation eased to 0.2% in April 2012 from 0.3% in the previous month, as a rise in clothing and health-related prices was offset by a decline in heavyweight food prices, data from the statistics office showed. The annual inflation rate, measured by the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), slowed to 3.7% last month from 3.9% in March. The average annual inflation rate, measured by the change in average annual HICP for the last 12 months in comparison with the average for the preceding 12 months, remained flat m/m at 4.2%. The EU-harmonised inflation has a different composition of the consumer basket compared to the headline inflation, which reached 3.6% y/y and 0.3% m/m in April.
