Slovakia's construction output down by 3.3% y/y in July.

The construction output narrowed by 3.3% y/y in July, slowing down from 6.6% y/y in June, the statistics office (SUSR) reported. The output in current prices was estimated at EUR 525.5mn in July against EUR 522.4mn in June. Net of seasonal influences, the construction activity increased by 2% m/m. The output in the new construction, reconstruction and upgrade segment increased slightly by 0.3% y/y, which was the first positive development in this segment this year. The output in the repair and maintenance segment slumped by 12.4% y/y. SUSR informed, that the construction work on buildings which has a 68% share of domestic construction output, decreased by 1.5% y/y, while civil engineering dropped by 3.5% y/y. On a cumulative basis, construction output contracted by 8% y/y to EUR 2.89bn in January-July.
