The government will back the rescue package that Ireland has asked the EU for, Radio Slovakia International reported. ,,The Parliament has already decided that Slovakia will take part in the EU rescue mechanism for euro-zone countries so all we have to do is to discuss some basic conditions for the procedure," prime minister Iveta Radicova said. She has earlier voiced an opinion that extending loans to troubled EU members could have negative effects in the long run. According to Radicova, Ireland is facing the same problems as Greece did and Greece is now not capable of fulfilling its debt committments. On Sunday, Ireland sought international help to cope with its banking and budget crisis. |
