Slovak annual headline inflation eases further to 0.5% in November 2013

Slovakia’s annual headline inflation eased for the 13th consecutive month in November 2013 reaching 0.5%, a level not seen since the beginning of 2010, data from the statistics office showed. In October the inflation stood at 0.6%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged down 0.1% in November after staying flat in the previous two months.

Prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, which have the strongest weight in the consumer basket, edged up 0.1% bringing up the annual growth of the component to 0.3% in November from 0.2% the month before. Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the second strongest weight in the basket, fell 0.5% m/m for in November helping ease the annual rise to 1.1% from 1.8%.

November’s annual core inflation eased to 0.4% from 0.6% in October.

For the first eleven months of 2013, consumer prices increased by 1.5% y/y on average.
