The share of bad loans in Slovakia stood at 4.97% of total loans as of end-October 2011, slightly lower than Septembers 5.06%, central bank data showed. The total value of bad loans fell 4.1% y/y to EUR 2.02bn in October, declining for a second month in a row after constant growth since the countrys entry into the euro zone in 2009. In September bad loans edged 0.2% lower y/y. Compared to the previous month, bad loans slipped 2.5% in October. Bad consumer loans and bank overdrafts recorded the highest annual declines in October, while bad operating loans rose the most, by 17.3%. The growth of bad investment loans, which reached 40% in September, plunged to 0.2% in October.
