Serbian Orthodox Church elects new patriarch.

The Serbian Orthodox Church elected a new patriarch over the weekend. Bishop Irinej Gavrilovic, 80, will be Serbia s 45th patriarch and the successor to the late Patriarch Pavle.Patriarch Irinej is considered a moderate who is open to modernisation.
