Serbia's restaurant, hotel prices up 9% y/y at end-2012.

Serbia's hotel and restaurant industry prices rose by an annual 9% y/y in December after climbing 10% y/y in November, the statistics office said in a statement. In monthly terms, the hotel and restaurant industry prices edged down 0.5% following a 1% increase a month earlier. Serbia's 2012 hotel and restaurant industry prices rose 6.1%. December food prices in the catering industry jumped 11.4% on the year, slightly slower than the 11.6% annual growth recorded a month earlier. Prices of alcoholic beverages increased an annual 10.9% in December, also slower than the 11.7% y/y rise in November. The growth in prices of non-alcoholic beverages, however, quickened on the year to 7.9% in December from 7.6% in November. Overnight accommodation prices edged up 0.2% y/y in December, following a 5.3% annual increase in the previous month.
