Serbia's new car registrations down 1.4% y/y in Q3 2012.

The number of newly registered passenger cars in Serbia fell an annual 1.4% in the third quarter of 2012 to 32,794 after rising by 2.3% y/y in the previous quarter, the statistics office said in a statement. Of all other types of road vehicles and trailers, an increase was registered only at special purpose motor vehicles (up 9.1% y/y to 358), agriculture tractors (up 25.7% to 1,327) and agriculture trailers (up 15.1% to 441). All other types of road vehicles and trailers such as buses, motorcycles, lorries, road tractors and motocultivators reported an annual decline in first-time registrations in the third quarter of 2012 with new trailers and semi-trailers registrations registering the steepest drop of 49.6% to 3,110. The most preferred motor vehicle manufacturers so far this year have been Zastava (a local trademark) Fiat, Renault, Opel and VW.
