Serbia, Japan to ink loan agreement for local power plant in March.

Serbia and Japan will ink a memorandum of understanding on a EUR 200mn loan to finance the installation of a flue gas desulfurization unit at thermal power plant Nikola Tesla (TENT A) next month, Deputy PM Bozidar Djelic said as cited by Tanjug. The loan agreement will be signed during the upcoming visit of Serbian president Boris Tadic to Japan, Djelic said. The new installation would help solve a major environmental problem for the Obrenovac region, Djelic added. The new installation would help reduce hazardous emissions by about 95%, the minister also said.
