In 2017, Slovenia’s industrial enterprises sold about €28.3bn worth of products and services, 11.7% up against 2016, the Slovenian Statistical Office announced on June 20.

In 2017 the annual growth of the value of sold industrial products and services was the highest in the last ten years. At the same time the value of sold industrial products and services in the last three years was higher than in 2008, which means that companies have already exceeded sales values before the economic crisis.

The latest data from the Statistical Office indicated that more than 76% of industrial products and services were sold on foreign markets.

In the last five years the highest share of total sold products and services was generated by manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (almost 15%), followed by manufacture of electrical equipment (almost 12%). The lowest share of total sale was recorded in manufacture of other transport equipment (less than 1%).

In manufacturing, in 2017 compared to 2016 turnover went up the most in manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (by 29%). On the other hand, it went down the most in manufacture of wearing apparel (by almost 11%), the Statistical Office said.

The highest growth in the last ten years was recorded in repair of machinery and equipment (by almost 105%), followed by manufacture of other transport equipment (by almost 91%) and manufacture of rubber and plastic products (by almost 56%). In the same period the biggest drop was recorded in manufacture of furniture (by almost 36%), followed by manufacture of textile (by almost 26%).

Last year, Slovenia maintained the positive trend present for previous several years. Growth was registered in 2016, 2015 and 2014. In 2016, industrial enterprises sold about €21.3bn worth of industrial products and services, which was almost 5.7% more than in 2015. In 2015 the amount stood at €20.1bn thanks to the rise of 3.9% against the €19.4bn sales in 2014, which was almost 6% more than in 2013.
