The producer of legendary AK-47 machine gun, the Kalashnikov Group presented a concept "electric supercar" CV-1 at the international forum Army-2018. The retro look of the light-blue model had the announcement quickly trending online, with headlines ironically pronouncing the concept as the Tesla electric car rival.
According to Kalashnikov, the test prototype can cover distance of 350km, without specifying its top speed. The concept is based on the Soviet model IZH-21252 Kombi.
Previously Kalashnikov developed electric scooters IZH Pulsar and electric car Ovum for Moscow police, that can reach speeds of up to 100km/h and 80km/h, respectively. The group is a part of state technology corporation Rostec.
