Russia offered stake in Serbian-Italian carmaking JV.

Mladjan Dinkic, former economy minister and leader of the United Regions of Serbia (URS) coalition, proposed to Russian PM Vladimir Putin an expansion of bilateral cooperation to include automobile industry, Blic daily reported. Dinkic suggested that a Russian company takes part in Serbia's joint venture with Italian carmaker Fiat, Fiat Automobili Srbija (FAS). The former economy minister also proposed that Russia approves a quota for imports of vehicles produced in Serbia and get a reciprocal quota in exchange. Dinkic noted that Russia was Serbia's sixth biggest export market and added that exports to this country rose by some 60% on the year in 2010.
