Russia will increase its natural gas supplies to Turkey this winter if Ankara demands, Russias energy minister Alexander Novak said on Sunday, a day ahead of Russian President Vladimir Putins visit to Turkey. Daily natural gas demand is expected to increase to 220mn cubic meters this winter from the current 125mn cubic meters. Russia is Turkeys largest supplier of natural gas. Novak separately said that Russian firm Rosatom was interested in building other nuclear power plants in Turkey. Rosatom already signed agreements to construct Turkeys first nuclear power plant. |
