Rompetrol to exit Albania, focus on more profitable markets – report.

Romanias second biggest oil company Rompetrol Group will close its four Albanian units and focus on more profitable Balkan and former Soviet states, Bloomberg news agency reported. The company plans to expand its operations in Georgia, Moldova, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Serbia and its home market in Romania, Rompetrol Chief Executive Officer Saduokhas Meraliyev said. Kazakh state oil and gas company KazMunaiGaz bought 75% of Rompetrol Group in August 2007 and in 2009, it bought the remaining 25% from Dinu Patriciu, Romanias richest man, according to Forbes.
