Romanias unemployment rate down 0.9pps y/y to 5.1% at end-March 2012.

Romanias registered unemployment rate dropped by 0.9pps on the year to 5.1% at the end of March 2012, the countrys labour bureau said on its website. The average rate was 5.2% in full Q1, down from 6.5% a year earlier. The average number of registered unemployed persons decreased by 20% y/y to 467,325, according to IntelliNews calculations. The recipients of unemployment benefits decreased even more, by 31% y/y to 192,983.
