Revenues of Vodafone Romania drop by 24% y/y in Oct-Dec.

The second largest mobile telecom operator, Vodafone Romania , said its revenues fell by 23.8% y/y in the quarter ending last December. No further detail regarding the financial performance was disclosed. Last time Vodafone Romania reported profits, EBITDA dropped by 22.6% y/y in the semester ending September to EUR 223mn for revenues of EUR 486mn (20.9% down y/y). The management invoked the 20% slump in the local telecom market last year. Vodafone added 128,000 customers in the quarter and reached a total of 9.663 million customer base. The average revenue per user for the 12 months ending December 31, reached EUR 8.1 versus EUR 8.7 in September last year and EUR 10.10 at the end of 2008.
