Retailer Idea mulls acquisition of Tus stores in Serbia - report.

Retailer Idea, part of Croatian food company Agrokor, is in the process of taking over the operations of Slovenian retail chain Tus in Serbia, Blic daily reported quoting unnamed sources. According to the daily, the Slovenian retailer has accumulated some EUR 200mn in debt to suppliers. The management of Tus in Slovenia has offered suppliers an agreement which calls for the repayment of accumulated liabilities in two to four years. Tus has seven stores in Serbia. Tus announced last year it would pull out from Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Also at the end of 2010, media reported that another Slovenian retailer, Mercator, could take over Tus' stores in Serbia.
