There were 543,000 registered unemployed in Hungary in September, down by 0.6% m/m, according to the latest data release of the State Employment Service (AFSZ). Their number decreased for a fifth consecutive month, which signals that the negative impact of the economic crisis on the labour market is bottoming out. Employers reported 28,400 new job positions in September, up by 4.4% m/m and 4.2% y/y. About half of the new jobs were state subsidised.
