Praktiker Hungary plans small-scale expansion by end-2012.

Germany's home improvement retailer Praktiker plans a small-scale expansion on the Hungarian market by the end of 2012, MTI news agency reported citing Karl-Heinz Ketha, the managing director of its Hungarian unit. The company intends to open two stores of 1,000-2,000 square meters, located near Budapest and in eastern Hungary, investing up to EUR 250,000. Praktiker currently operates 19 stores in the country. It posted EUR 42mn revenues from sales in H1 2012, down by 15.3% y/y, Praktiker group's interim report showed.
