Poland posted PLN 6.97bn in privatization revenue in 2009, the spokeperson of the Treasury Ministry said on Wednesday. Dividend receipts were at PLN 7.84 bn."Gross receipts from privatization in 2009 amounted to PLN 6.97 bn, 105 privatization deals were signed," the ministry said in communiqu. Poland planned to raise PLN 11.53bn from privatization. The dividend received from state-owned companies amounted to PLN 7.84 bn, the ministry noted. "Dividend capacities of the companies were much higher but, in accordance with the Finance Ministry, a decision was made to maintain the dividends at this level," the Treasury Ministry added. Initially, the State intended to raise PLN 7.1bn from dividends. In 2010 the government plans to raise around PLN 25bn from the privatization process.
