PM: Ukraine saves almost UAH 2bn after review of gas contracts with Russia.

Following review of gas contracts between Ukraine and Russia and reduction of a price for Russian natural gas, Ukraine saved almost UAH 2bn in April, which in compliance with the previous contract it would have to pay for imported gas, PM Mykola Azarov has said. At the same, time he noted that primarily, it was necessary to send the saved funds for energy saving. The PM also said that for the first time over recent months Ukraine entered May with positive balance of the unified treasury account. According to him, in April, not only UAH 5bn of debts of the previous government was repaid, but all state expenses were fully financed.
