PM Azarov estimates shale gas reserves in Ukraine at 7tn m3.

PM Mykola Azarov estimates reserves of shale gas in Ukraine at 7tn m3. He announced this during the meeting with representatives of the Norwegian energy sector in Oslo. He noted that companies such as the Anglo-Dutch Shell company and the Exxon Mobil Corporation (United States) have already expressed interest in development of shale-gas deposits in Ukraine. The Ministry of Energy and the Coal Industry expects commercial production of shale gas, as well as gas from the deepwater part of the Black Sea shelf to begin no earlier than 2022.
