Number of tourists in Serbia up 0.6% y/y in Jan-Jun.

The number of tourists who visited Serbia in the first six months of the year rose an annual 0.6% to 989,666, the country's statistics office said in a statement. Tourist overnights over the period, however, declined 2.5% on the year to nearly 3.1 million. The number of foreign tourists jumped 7.7% on the year to some 364,154 in Jan-Jun, while the number of their overnights climbed 12% to 814,800. Most of the foreign tourists came from Slovenia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Croatia, Italy and Germany. In June alone, the number of tourists edged up 0.1% on the year to 204,525 as they spent 2% less overnights (664,000) in the country.
