Number of fixed telephony users in Montenegro up by 0.3% m/m in July.

The number of fixed telephony users in Montenegro reached 169,008 at the end of July, up by 0.3% m/m, the communications agency EKIP reported on its website. Crnogorski Telekom, the local arm of Deutsche Telekom, held 98.07% of the fixed telephony market at end-July versus 1.93% for M:Tel, the Montenegrin unit of Telekom Srbije, EKIP said. M:Tel provides fixed telephony via WiMAX technology. Individuals accounted for 86.8% of the total fixed telephony users at the end of the month, while companies for the remaining 13.1%. The total number of Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) connections in the country stood at 4,949 at end-July, which was marginally less (0.7%) than a month earlier. Out of the total ISDN connections, 46.3% belong to individuals and the remainder to companies.
