Food group Nestle will start exports of ice cream produced at its Stara Pazova factory in Serbia to the EU in 2012, Beta news agency reported citing Nestle's country manager for Serbia Cedric Boehm. Ice cream production will start this winter and exports are expected to start in the spring of 2012, Boehm explained. The key export markets will be neighboring Romania and Bulgaria as well as western Europe. In Serbia, Nestle operates only the Stara Pazova plant but at the end of June it announced the acquisition of local food and beverage producer Centroproizvod. The deal is expected to be closed this autumn. The terms of the deal include the acquisition of Centroproizvod's C brand, as well as the company's factory in Surcin, in the Serbian capital Belgrade.
