Montenegro to get EUR 28.6mn funding under IPA.

Montenegro and the European Commission (EC) signed a financial agreement, according to which the country will receive EUR 28.6mn for transition and institutional building under the Pre-accession Assistance (IPA) framework, the government said in a statement. We note that the EU supports the development and reform process in the candidate countries on their European integration path through the IPA. Montenegro applied for EU membership in December 2008. It hopes to achieve an EU-candidate country status this year.
