Montenegro's retail sales growth slows to 5.8% y/y in March 2012.

Montenegro's retail trade rose by 5.8% y/y (in constant prices) in March 2012, down from 12.5% y/y in Feb and 16.9% y/y in Jan, according to data published by the statistics office. In monthly terms, the retail trade index rose in March for the first time since the start of the year - by 18.4%, after dropping by 2.2% in Feb and 16.8% in Jan. The retail trade index has increased by 11.2% y/y in the period from Jan through March. Retail sales stayed above their year-ago level during all 12 months of 2011 and the retail trade turnover index ended the year up 31.7% y/y.
