Montenegro's inflation, measured by the EU harmonised inflation index (HICP), accelerated to 4.4% y/y in June from an annual 3.6% a month earlier, statistics office (MONSTAT) data showed. Prices of restaurants and hotels increased the most - by 10% on the year, following 5% annual increase in the previous month. Food and non-alcoholic beverages prices also contributed to the annual inflation as their growth reached 7.2% y/y in June, up from 2.6% y/y in the previous month. The harmonised monthly inflation, however, decelerated to 0.5% in June from 0.8% in May. Earlier reported CPI data showed that inflation accelerated to 3.9% y/y in June from an annual 3.5% in May due to higher growth in prices of food, restaurants and hotels, and recreation and culture services.
