Montenegro's foreign tourist arrivals up 22.6% y/y in March 2012.

The number of foreign tourists visiting Montenegro, representing some 74% of all tourists in the country in March, grew by 22.6% y/y to 16,219, the statistics office reported. The number of foreign tourist arrivals returned to growth after following by 23.8% y/y in Feb. Domestic tourists number also rose in March - by 7.4% y/y after dropping by 30.2% y/y in the previous month. The total number of tourists that visited the country in March reached 21.900, up by 18.3% y/y. The number of foreign tourist overnight stays increased by 23.7% y/y to 59,320 in March. The overnight stays of domestic tourists dropped by 4.2% y/y to 21,424. In Jan-March, total tourist arrivals rose marginally by 0.4% y/y, as the cumulative foreign tourist number rose by 5.2% y/y and domestic tourist number decreased by 10.3% y/y.
