Market capitalisation of Macedonian stock exchange up 0.6% in Oct 2012.

The market capitalisation of the shares traded on the Macedonian Stock Exchange (MSE) increased by 0.64% m/m to MKD 108.64bn (EUR 1.77bn) at end-October, reversing a 0.84% m/m drop at end-September, MSE said in a statement. The market capitalisation of listed debt instruments edged down by 0.2% m/m to MKD 7.36bn at end-October. The equity indices MBI10 and MBID moved in opposite directions last month. The blue-chip index MBI10 declined by 4.4%, while the publicly held companies index MBID rose by 4.11%. The MSE's turnover decreased by 34.71% m/m to MKD 223.3mn in October. Regular trading turnover contracted by 17.53% m/m to MKD 179.1mn, and block transactions turnover dropped by 75.78% m/m to MKD 12.3mn. In addition, there was public offering turnover of MKD 74mn in September, while no such activity was reported for October. On the other hand, MSE reported public bourse auction turnover of MKD 31.9mn in October, while there was no such activity in the previous month. The total number of transactions on the bourse decreased by 4.25% m/m to 969 last month. Foreign investors accounted for 13.45% of the total turnover on the buy side and for 15.08% of the total turnover on the sell side.
