The revenues of wireless telecommunication company Vip operator expanded by 10.4% y/y to EUR 14.6mn in Q2, according to a release by the companys parent, Telekom Austria Group. The company comments that revenue growth was driven by a higher mobile subscriber base and an expansion in volumes. Average monthly revenue per user edged down to EUR 7.5 in Q2 2012, from EUR 7.6 a year earlier. The companys EBITDA jumped five times on the year to EUR 2.5mn in the second quarter. Vip operator also reported a positive EBIT of EUR 0.3mn, reversing an EBIT loss of EUR 2.1mn in Q2 2011. The companys subscriber base expanded by 19% y/y to 600,800 subscribers at end-June. The market share of VIP operator increased by 3.3 pps y/y to 26% at end-June. There are two other mobile operators in Macedonia - T-Mobile Macedonia (market share of 49.7% at end-June) and ONE (owned by Telekom Slovenije). |
