Macedonias building permits up 7.7% y/y in March 2012.

The number of building permits issued in Macedonia in March increased by 7.7% y/y to 210, accelerating from 0.6% y/y in February, according to data of the statistics office. The expected value of the planned construction projects rose by 74.2% on the year to MKD 3.57bn (EUR 58mn), up from 17.2% y/y in the previous month. Out of the 210 building permits issued in March, 146 were for construction of buildings, 43 for civil engineering works and 21 for reconstruction works. Most of the building permits (130 or 61.9% of the total) were issued to private individuals.
