Macedonias building permits number down 3.7% y/y in October 2012.

The number of building permits issued in Macedonia dropped by 3.7% y/y to 258 in October, reversing an annual increase of 25.5% in September, according to statistics office data. On the other hand, the expected value of the planned construction projects rose by 29.1% y/y to MKD 3.14bn (EUR 51mn) in October, after declining by 13.2% y/y in the previous month. Out of the 258 building permits issued in October, 196 were for the construction of buildings, 30 for civil engineering works and 32 for reconstruction works. Most of the building permits (189 or 73.3% of the total) were issued to private individuals.
