Macedonian firm Pekabesko opens EUR 13mn meat products facility.

Food distribution and manufacturing company Pekabesko has opened a new production and logistics centre, Dnevnik daily reported. The investment in the centre amounts to EUR 13mn. Some EUR 9.5mn of the total was funded with a loan from the European Investment Bank and the Macedonian Bank for Development Promotion. The remainder of the investment cost was covered with own resources of the company. The new facility has a daily production capacity of 35 tonnes - it can process fresh meat, manufacture pates and pack frozen fish, as well as frozen vegetables and fruits. Upon reaching full capacity loading, the centre will create 200 new jobs.
