Macedonia's Q3 2009 retail sales fall 5% y/y.

Macedonia's retail sales turnover in the third quarter of 2009 fell by 5% y/y to MKD 24.1bn (EUR 392mn), data from the statistics office showed. This is the third consecutive quarter in which the direct effect of the economic crisis can be seen in the negative results of the retail sales dynamics. The wholesale turnover went down 11.4% to MKD 333bn. The biggest portion of the turnover by kind of payments is in cash 91.3%. A total of 14.8% of the loans were used for the purchase of vehicles.
