The gross international reserves of Macedonia's central bank rose by 8.4% y/y to €2.4mn in June, latest NBRM data released on July 7 indicated.
Macedonia’s gross international reserves totalled €2.61bn at end-2016, increasing from €2.26bn at end-2015 when they declined from €2.44bn at end-2014.
The latest central bank data showed that Macedonia’s monetary gold reserves, part of the country’s gross international reserves, decreased to €241mn in June, from €250.3mn in May and from €259.9mn a year ago.
The value of securities in June rose 7.7% y/y to €1.78bn.
At end-June, currency and deposits increased to €372.1mn, from €240.2mn a year ago.
Meanwhile, SDR (special drawing rights) accounted for €4.7mn of gross international reserves at end-June, the same amount as in the previous year.
