Macedonia pays EUR 23mn in subsidies to tobacco growers.

The ministry of finance paid MKD 1.41bn (EUR 23mn) in subsidies for produced and sold tobacco from the 2012 crop, state news agency MIA reported. The subsidies were paid to 22,313 farmers. Some MKD 188mn remain to be paid, and this will be done by the end of this week. The subsidy was set at MKD 60 (approximately EUR 1) per kg of produced and sold tobacco.
