Macedonia on track to clear debt arrears to corporate sector by end-Feb.

The repayment of government arrears owed to local companies is advancing according to the plans and will be completed by the end of this month, state news agency MIA reported quoting deputy PM and minister of finance Zoran Stavreski. The governments liabilities for VAT returns and contracted work have been cut to EUR 10mn as of yesterday, Feb 20. The repayment was launched in mid-September 2012, when the arrears totalled EUR 92mn. Stavreski commented that the companies liquidity has improved.
