LV: Only Latvian ports post cargo turnover growth in H1.

Only Latvia's ports posted increase in cargo turnover in the Baltic States in H1, data collected by nozare.lv portal shows. Latvian ports' cargo turnover in H1/12 increased by 17% y/y to 40.34mn tons (18.7mn tons for Port of Riga, 17.3mn tons for Ventspils Port, and 3.5mn tons for Liepaja Port). In Lithuania's Klaipeda 20.2mn tons or cargo were handled (down by 10.4% y/y), while in Estonia's Port of Tallinn 15.9mn tons (down by 17% y/y). Overall on the Eastern shore of the Baltic Sea in H1/12 the biggest port in terms of cargo turnover was Russia's Primorsk and St Petersburg ports (38.5mn tons and 27.6mn tons, respectively), followed by Klaipeda and Riga ports (20.28mn and 18.8mn tons), Russia's Ustj-Luga port (18.66mn tons), Ventspils port (17.3mn tons), Tallinn port (15.9mn tons) and Russia's Kaliningrad port (6.3mn tons).
