According to the report by European Statistical Agency Eurostat, unemployment rate in Latvia in August stood at 15.9%, which was higher than average EU-27 and Eurozone unemployment rate of 10.5% and 11.4%, respectively, and the third highest unemployment rare in EU. Latvia was preceded only by Spain (25.1% unemployment rate), Greece (24.4%), and Portugal (15.9%). Lithuania and Estonia had 12.9% and 10.1% unemployment rates in the reporting month of August. |
