LV: Latvian unemployment rate of 14.3% 3rd highest in EU in November-Eurostat.

According to the report by European Statistical Agency Eurostat, unemployment rate in Latvia in November stood at 14.3%, which was higher than average EU-27 unemployment rate of 9.6% and the third highest unemployment rare in EU. Latvia was preceded only by Spain (20.6% unemployment rate) and Slovakia (14.5%). According to the Labour Force Survey performed by Central Statistical Bureau (which estimates both registered and non-registered unemployed), there were 225,800 unemployed or 19.4% of the economically active population in Q2/10 (20.4% in Q1/10 and 16.7% in Q2/09). Average unemployment rate last year was expected at 17% by EconMin.
