LV: airBaltic passenger turnover up by 5% y/y in 2011.

According to the announcement made by the company, Latvian national air carrier airBaltic transported a total of 3.3mn passengers in 2011, which made a 5% y/y increase. In December alone, passenger turnover declined by 5% y/y to 0.197mn .To remind, before Q1/11 airBaltic saw six months in a row of rather low passenger turnover, which was attributed to unfavourable weather conditions (in Q1/11 passenger turnover declined by 4% y/y). In 2011 55,319 flights were operated (down by 1% from 2010), with number of flights declinging by 12% y/y to 3,508 flights. Load factor of the company was 75% (up by 6pps from 2010) and 15-minute punctuality was 88.6%. airBaltic airline transported a total of 3.25mn passengers in 2010 (16% y/y increase) and operated 56,098 flights, up by 22% y/y.
