LV: airBaltic passenger turnover down by 4% y/y in Q1.

According to the announcement made by company representatives, airBaltic airline transported a total of 0.599mn passengers in Jan-Mar 2011, which made a 4% y/y decrease. In March alone, passenger turnover declined by 2%, making a sixth month in a row of rather low passenger turnover, which previously was attributed to unfavourable weather conditions. In Q1 carrier operated more than 12,000 flights, up by 4% y/y. To remind, airBaltic airline transported a total of 3.25mn passengers in 2010, which made a 16% y/y increase. Last year carrier operated 56,098 flights, up by 22% y/y.
