Bank of Lithuania announced that its external assets increased by LTL 240mn (EUR 69.5mn) m/m in May, which indicates approximately 1.8% m/m increase in external assets, which stood at LTL 16.5bn as of end-May. External liabilities increased by LTL 408mn m/m, and amounted to LTL 706mn as of end-May. Cash in circulation increased at LTL 107.8mn m/m and amounted to LTL 8.1bn as of end-May. Residents' deposits with the bank declined by LTL 298mn m/m and stood at LTL 5.6bn. Central government deposits declined by LTL 90mn m/m and stood at LTL 3.2bn. Other MFI deposits declined by LTL 188mn m/m and stood at LTL 2.3bn as of end-May. Capital and reserves increased by LTL 9.6mn m/m and stood at LTL 1.9bn as of end-May.
