LT: Baltics M&A market at EUR 675mn in 2011.

In the Baltic States total merger and acquisitions (M&A) value amounted to EUR 675mn in 2011, law firm Raidla Lejins & Norcous has reported. Lithuania accounted for 64% of the value in M&A market, and 28% of transactions. In the Baltic States total number of transactions stood at 53 in 2011, up from 22 transactions in 2010. Q2 was the most active quarter with 19 transactions, and value of EUR 465mn. Sarah Seyed, expert at Mergermarket, indicated that Lithuanian numbers were skewed strongly by Sanitas sale to Valeant pharmaceuticals for EUR 361mn in Q2. Estonia accounted for 28% of M&A value in 2011 in the Baltic States, and Latvia accounted for 8%.
