Kazakhstan to spend nearly USD 1bn on new jobs creation in 2010.

The Kazakh government will spend nearly USD 1bn to create jobs in 2010, the labour and social protection minister Gulshara Abdikhalikova has informed. The central government will provide KZT 100bn (USD 675mn) to implement the Road Map state programme of combating unemployment. Moreover, the regional authorities will allocate additional KZT 43bn on this programme. It is planned to implement around 3,000 projects thanks to the funds. In 2009, the authorities implemented 5,300 projects and created 248,000 new jobs within the programme. Around 125,000 people were engaged in social work and 95,000 people attended training courses. To remind you, the government took efforts to diminish the impact of the global economic crisis on the society. One of the priorities was no to allow to increase the unemployment rate.
